This summer was full of fun, sun, and the completion of 3 months of Brain Balance. At Josh's final assessment he went from having all Primitive Reflexes to mild in half and none for the other half. Even as a lefty he was doing everything with his right hand and moved to left. This is very important because mixed dominance is painful (trust me I know! 4/5 in our household are left handed) Since Brain Balance we have been able to reduce his medicine from 21 pills a week to 5. I know what you might be thinking, "WoW, that is a lot of pills for a child." I felt the same and while feeling like a bad mom have tried 20+ times (I can't count the times) to remove medication but his aggression and inability to focus was so severe it would have been detrimental to other kids/adults so I always ended up back with medication. Now Josh (6 weeks with reduced meds and through almost 2 weeks of school):
1. Wakes up happy and helpful
2. Gets himself dressed in the mornings
3. Makes his own dinner and dessert
4. Cleans up after himself
5. Is writing better and FASTER (this is huge, processing speed has always been slow)
6. Has much better balance and ability to determine left from right (Karate evidence)
7. Has body awareness to know not to bounce his stuffed animal on everyone's head :)
8. Is better at determining foods that might cause issues
9. and so much more
I am forever grateful to Brain Balance and love reading stories DAILY about other children that have amazing improvements that now have the tools to succeed, feel confident, make friends, be the next Albert Einstein. We have amazing, gifted children that learn different than others but they are special and have so much potential. I hope to someday help all children at least have the opportunity to live without anxiety, depression, fear, anger, sadness, or shame. These are the horrendous things that spin young adults/adults into despair and potentially harmful decisions.
Sincerely,
Loving mom to Ezra, Josh, and Aiden and lucky wife to Mr James Ballen ;)
