With the limited amount of game time Josh is working on his play skills. We definitely still need to work on boundaries but they will come as he continues through the program.
At our 4 week progress report Josh's biggest leap was in writing and getting words to paper (3 years!!). It was very apparent when he brought home a math assignment for the first time with two paragraphs of reasoning AND he actually did extra credit for the first time and got a total of 100% on his math test! Woohoo.
He also received his red tip in karate to go for his green/red belt, which has been his hardest belt yet.
Our biggest challenge with the program is getting their on time with our 2 hour total commute and getting headaches/stomach aches because his lack of food during lunch. I'm really excited to see how his week camping trip and 2 week hiking journey in the next month help Josh continue to progress (all right brain activities!!)
Also, exciting is to hear the major progress of other children in the program. If anything the holistic approach of noticing what you eat, having a dietitian for 18 months, getting physical therapy and academic help, accustomed to tutoring and OT, monitoring screen time, doing exercises with your children, you pretty much get 5 services 3x a week. Also, I learn so much from the other parents. Getting a book on wheat belly, looking into essential oils, finding great recipes, and meeting some really cool people! I am very happy that I found Brain Balance and the progress in my son makes James and I emotional. Now if only we can convince the other boys to do Brain Balance and create a program for parents, #IneedBrainBalance ><
